Corning HPFS 7980, 7979
Corning HPFS 7980,7979 are high purity non-crystalline Silica glass designated by Corning. Glass codes Corning 7980,7979 are known in the industry for their superior optical quality and are often selected as the substrate and wafer materials for optical windows, optical lenses, and optical mirrors, etc. with exceptionally high transmission from the deep ultraviolet through the infrared region. Additionally, the products feature high refractive index homogeneity, extremely low birefringence, and thermal expansion. For further discrimination, code 7980 represents UV Fused Silica and code 7979 stands for IR grade Fused Silica.
